Our Curriculum

I am a firm believer that homeschooling can be done very cheaply. I love to use living books, the library is my best friend. I love that they also let you have 75 pages of free printing per week (we have more than one library card too)

Maybe a downside to my methods is that I do have to do a lot of planning. Which with more "boxed" curriculum things might be more laid out for you. I don't mind the planning though.

So here is a little look at what Each of our children are doing.

We do History, Science, Bible, Health, Art and Music as a Group (I will expand on that more later)

Sunshine Age 4
We are just getting out feet wet. At her age I focus more on social and behavioral skills such as, sitting still during a story, using manors, putting things away properly etc.
We also "play school"
using no formal curriculum as of yet we are very happy she can count to 20 (skipping 13 guess she thinks its unlucky), knows all 26 letters by sight and sound, can write her name and a few other words (mom, dad, siblings names etc.) knows her shapes, colors, and is doing simple math with manipulative's

Moonbeam Age 7
Currently we are focusing a lot of attention on the Three R's
We do daily leveled readers, ClickNKids.com for phonics practice, a little review with phonics pathways.
For math we are using a combo of Evan Moor practice books and MEP 1B
For writing we do scripture copy work, poetry and recipes
We are also doing FLL 2 and KISS grammar

Starlight Age 11 & Rainbow Age 14
